Scholarship

Thank you for your interest in the 2012 Delegate’s Scholarship. As one of your representatives in the Maryland General Assembly and a strong proponent of education, I want to congratulate you on your academic efforts. I realize that the decision to further your education is not always easy to make, but the long-term benefits accrued by a college degree are numerous and substantial.

Applications for the 2012 scholarship are now being accepted and the closing date for receipt of your application is June 1st, 2012. Please remember that the Delegate’s Scholarship is NOT renewed on an annual basis, so past recipients must re-apply annually for consideration. Before submitting your application, make sure that you have responded to all of the short answer questions. Our office will not contact you about materials that are missing;- it is your responsibility to ensure that we have received your application in its entirety.

Recipient Payment

Awards are made directly to the institution that you are attending. At the beginning of each school term, the institution will be asked to review recipient rosters to verify that you are a Maryland resident and that you are enrolled for the number of credits for which the award was made. Upon the institution’s certification, the State Scholarship Administration will disburse the award.

Please contact our office if you have any questions about the application of the award process.

Sincerely,
